DELHI NEWS: Lakhs of vehicles become junk in Delhi, registration canceled, know the reason

Delhi News: Big news is coming from the auto sector from Delhi, in fact, the Transport Department of Delhi has canceled the registration of more than 54 lakh vehicles which have crossed the period of operation till 27th March. These also include two wheelers, autorickshaws, and cab vehicles. According to the information given by the department, among the vehicles whose registration has been cancelled, there are some vehicles which were registered in the years 1900 and 1901.

The Supreme Court gave its decision-

In the year 2018, the Supreme Court had banned diesel and petrol vehicles which were 10 years and 15 years old respectively in Delhi. The court had said that vehicles violating the order should be confiscated. The 2014 order of the National Green Tribunal prohibited parking of vehicles older than 15 years at public places.

Most vehicles canceled here-

According to the information given by the Transport Department, registration of maximum number of vehicles has been canceled in South Delhi Part One. There, the registration of 9,285 three-wheelers and 25,167 cabs was canceled till March 27. 2,90,127 vehicles in Mall Road Zone, 9,99,999 vehicles in South Delhi Part One, 1,1,69,784 vehicles in South Delhi Part II, 1,95,626 vehicles in Raja Garden, 6,56,201 vehicles in Rohini Zone, Sarai Kale Khan 4,96,086 vehicles, 2, 7,06,921 vehicles in Janakpuri, 4,35,408 vehicles in Loni, 2,99,788 vehicles in Mayur Vihar, 1,65,048 vehicles in Wazirpur, 3,04,677 vehicles in Dwarka, 25,167 vehicles in Burari and IP Depot Registration of 3,27,034 vehicles was canceled in

What will happen to the canceled vehicles?-

Those which were canceled have now become junk. The Transport Department had started a campaign on March 29 to send the vehicles that have completed their operational period to the scrap. Transport Commissioner Ashish Kundra said, “There is a request to obtain NOC (No Objection Certificate) for out of date vehicles and sell them in the state where they are fit to run (operate). If these vehicles are found standing on the roads here, then they are in danger of being given in junk. 79.18 lakh vehicles were registered on the roads of Delhi in 2021-22.
