Who is Gurpatwant Singh Pannu?
Gurpatwant Singh Pannu is a Sikh activist who rose to prominence as the leader of Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), an organization advocating for an independent Sikh homeland called Khalistan. Pannu was born in Punjab, India and has been involved in various campaigns and activities aimed at raising awareness of Sikh interests and garnering support for the demand for Khalistan.
Pannu has been at the forefront of organizing protests, rallies and events around the world to draw attention to political and human rights issues facing the Sikh community in India. He is known for his impassioned speeches, advocating self-determination for Sikhs, and exposing alleged religious and political discrimination against Sikhs in India.
The demand for Khalistan began in the early 20th century and gained momentum during the 1980s and 1990s. It is based on the claim that Sikhs, as a distinct religious and cultural group, deserve a separate nation-state independent of India. The movement for Khalistan has been a complex and contentious issue, involving various historical, political and socio-religious factors, while Pannu and Sikhs for Justice have drawn support from some members of the Sikh diaspora, particularly in the United States In countries such as the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, it has also faced criticism and controversy. The Government of India has labeled Sikhs for Justice a “separatist and extremist” organization and banned it in India. Pannu has faced legal challenges and charges in India relating to her activities and speeches, including charges of sedition.
3 Khalistani terrorists have died in the last 2 months-
Hardeep Nijjar: Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF) chief Nijjar was shot dead on June 18 in the parking lot of a gurdwara in Canada. Nijjar was not even given time to get down from the car. Nijjar was the head of this gurudwara.
Avtar Khanda: Pro-Khalistan leader Avtar Singh Khanda, who planned the attack on the Indian embassy on June 14, died in the UK. Sources said that he was suffering from blood cancer. However, there was also talk of poisoning him.
Paramjit Panjwad: On 6 May, Khalistan Commando Force (KCF) chief Paramjit Singh Panjwad was assassinated in Lahore. Bullets were fired after entering the Sunflower Society of Jauhar town of Lahore. Panjwad died on the spot. He was taking refuge in Pakistan since 1990. He was living here in the name of Malik Sardar Singh.
After the death of these three Khalistan supporters, the news of Pannu’s death can put Khalistanis in grief and it can be said that slowly but surely the network of pro-Khalistan terrorists is getting smaller but let us tell you that Gurpatwant Singh Pannu’s death is yet to be confirmed.
