Pawar came to know about cancer during the 2004 Lok Sabha elections when he was busy preparing for the elections. Although he had realized in the year 1999 itself that something was happening in his mouth, but he did not pay much attention to it at that time and got busy with his work. When it was confirmed in the year 2004 that he had mouth cancer, he went to New York for its treatment, but the doctors there asked him to consult doctors in India itself, after which he returned to India. He got this disease treated in India itself.

Many doctors advised Pawar to finish all his work and said that you have only about six months to live but Pawar was not going to give up.

He took treatment for this disease and the disease had to give up and he got cured but since his recovery he is not able to speak properly but it is not that his life was saved. Therefore, we can say that Sharad Pawar does not have any disease in his mouth now but it is a mark of the disease. Sharad Pawar says that he got this disease due to chewing gutkha and betel nut. Sharad Pawar’s early life and family-

Sharad Pawar was born on 12 December 1940 in Baramati, Pune district of Maharashtra. His father’s name was Govindrao Pawar and mother’s name was Shardabai Pawar. The Pawar family was active in farming and educational activities. Pawar received his education in Pune, where he received a bachelor’s degree from Brihanmumbai University.

Sharad Pawar’s political career-

Sharad Pawar entered politics at a very young age. He was elected to the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly in 1967 and became a member of the Indian National Congress (INC). His political career progressed rapidly, and he became the youngest Chief Minister of Maharashtra in 1978, when he formed the Congress (U) after the division of the state.

Sharad Pawar served three times as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra: 1978–1980, 1988–1991, and 1993–1995. Under his leadership, Maharashtra made significant progress in the field of development and industrialization. He was known as an efficient administrator and farmer leader who launched several initiatives to improve the agricultural sector of the state.

Sharad Pawar’s contribution to the Center-

In 1991, Sharad Pawar became the Defense Minister in the Central Government, when P.V. Narasimha Rao was the Prime Minister. In this position, he took many steps to strengthen the Indian Army. Later, he served as the Agriculture Minister in the Central Government from 2004 to 2014, where he made many reforms in Indian agriculture and worked for the welfare of farmers.
